The first of the first all -Russian communist subbotniks in Leningrad is depicted. Perhaps Buchkin was preparing a picture for the first exhibition of Leningrad artists (1935), on which the topic of labor and shock became software. The work necessary in the Civil War and economic devastation on Saturday – in this case, the landing of the first trees on the victims of the revolution, as the Marse Field was called then, became later the popular movement. But the artist in this event fascinated the topics of modernity, mass holiday and festivities. The picture was created on the material of field sketches and sketches.
